Help with Fuselage Design

First post.

I'm trying to design a 3d printed fuselage for a RC Glider.   It's actually a remix of the Caracara fuselage on Thingiverse.  The original is super small and hard to work with getting the servos installed and such.

So...my question is..after creating the loft for the fuselage:

1.  How can/do I create structures for the servo mounts inside of the loft?

2.  How can I create supports inside the loft to strengthen the print?

I'm getting close but would love some insight into the proper workflow.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Hey @mwbyrd,

Have you tried this technique?

If it doesn't work, then please send me the file and a picture of the structure you want to create.

@benk  I haven't seen this video.  I'll take a look at it an see if it answers my questions.

Thanks for the quick response.

@benk Just finished the video.  This definitely opened my eyes to some new ideas.  I'm going to go back and watch the video (or see if there is one) on how you created the skins for wing or the hull for the boat.

Question...using this method, could you 3d print the wing or boat hull?  My question is, would the ribs be connected the wing skin or boat hull?

@mwbyrd,

You should be able to 3d print.

But be sure if you want to print everything in one piece or divide the model into several logical pieces.

@benk Yeah, definitely multiple pieces.  Looking forward to testing this out tonight or tomorrow.  I'll keep you posted.

@mwbyrd,

Do that! I'm thinking about making new videos about Fusion 360 and 3D printing.
